SCMA Member Code of Conduct & Agreement 

By joining and participating in the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) and the WISE subgroup, members agree to uphold the following standards of conduct.  

This Code of Conduct is intended to foster a safe, inclusive, and professional environment while protecting the organization and its members. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the organization. 

Standards of Conduct 

All members are expected to: 

  • Treat all members and Executive Board (E-Board) members with respect; harassment of any kind will not be tolerated  

  • Respect personal boundaries at all times  

  • Refrain from discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or identity  

  • Act in accordance with all university policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws 

  • Address conflicts respectfully and directly when appropriate, and involve leadership when mediation is needed  

  • Report concerns, violations, or unsafe behavior to SCMA leadership in a timely manner  

  • Represent SCMA in a positive and professional manner at meetings, events, and external engagements  

  • Maintain professional decorum at all SCMA-sponsored events  

 Personal Responsibility & Liability 

  • Members are fully responsible for their own actions and behavior at all SCMA events  

  • Any member whose actions result in harm to themselves or others assumes full personal responsibility; SCMA, its leadership, and affiliates are not liable  

  • Members are responsible for 100% of any damage to property caused by their actions at SCMA events  

  • Any fees, fines, or financial penalties assessed to SCMA as a result of a member’s actions will be the sole responsibility of that member  

 

Violations & Disciplinary Action 

Any violation of this Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the SCMA Executive Board. The Executive Board reserves the right to take appropriate disciplinary action at its discretion. 

Consequences may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Removal from social events  

  • Removal from professional events, including off-campus trips  

  • Loss of membership points or privileges  

  • Placement on a probationary period  

  • Ineligibility for Executive Board or Chair positions  

  • Financial restitution for damages or penalties incurred  

  • Removal from SCMA membership

By paying your membership dues, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by the SCMA Member Code of Conduct. You understand that failure to comply may result in disciplinary action as outlined above.
